Helping you adjust

The fourth trimester is a time for you to recover after birth, a time to get to know your new baby, rest, recuperate, adjust to your new life and take time to breathe and be nurtured. You have just given birth to a human after all! That's pretty monumental and you deserve to be supported throughout this time by someone who cares, listens and holds space for all you are going through. I will help with whatever you feel will be most beneficial and aim to help you feel rested and confident.

Understanding the Fourth Trimester will help you plan and prepare for it. This article helps to explain what your baby will be going through when they arrive Earth side. Watch a video of me talking about the fourth trimester in my blog.

I prefer to be able to meet you antenatally to get to know you a little and discuss a plan of care that works for you - check out my postnatal planning package.  But I am also happy to offer emergency care to families who feel they need immediate additional support with their newborn or older baby, whatever the circumstances. I offer ad hoc sessions as well as weekly visits just get in touch to see how I can support you.

My role as your doula covers many different aspects and the support you need will probably change from day to day.  I will be totally flexible to your individual family needs and my focus will be on you. Check out my video blog to learn a little more about what can be included in a session of postnatal doula support. I can make you a hot drink and listen to your concerns or I can carry your baby in my sling whilst you have a sleep or a shower or take time for yourself. I am happy to undertake light housework and look after older siblings whilst you rest or spend time with your baby. I can run errands or do your shopping. I can prepare simple nourishing meals and even take your dog for a walk! It really depends where you need support with your daily routines. I aim to gradually decrease the number of hours I work in agreement with you, when you feel confident.

I also have a library of useful parenting information books that you are welcome to borrow.

Finally, I will always be available by telephone, text or email throughout our relationship

Contact me to discuss your requirements.
