Contact naps are not “bad habits” —

they’re biologically normal 🤍

That warm little body curled up on your chest? Your baby feels safe, regulated, and connected there. In those early weeks and months, contact naps can support:

✨ Nervous system regulation

✨ Better sleep for overtired babies

✨ Bonding and attachment

✨ Breastfeeding and milk supply support

✨ Emotional security and comfort

✨ Lower stress levels for both baby and parent

Babies spent months being held, rocked, and hearing your heartbeat before they were born. Wanting closeness after birth makes perfect sense.

And for parents — this is your reminder that resting with your baby is productive. You are not “spoiling” them by responding to their need for connection.

One day they won’t fit so perfectly on your chest anymore. So if you can, soak in the cuddles, the tiny sighs, and the stillness. 💛
